Sybil's:

Last Wednesday night, we ate at Sybil's with Todd and Michelle.  We had a great meal and it was free.
I had answered some questions one night on fire safety on the telephone.  Someone called and said I "won" tickets to eat at Sybil's and to bring a couple with us.  Todd and Michelle were more than happy to go.
We got there on time but the room was already full to the max.  We were taken to the dining room to eat.  So glad as there was much more room and it was quiet.  You had to listen to a seminar on fire safety and I'm sure there were items to purchase.  We were only there for the free meal.  We couldn't hear the seminar so they invited us back to eat again and listen to the seminar.  For you that have ate at Sybil's, you know how expensive it is.  We'll go back for another free dinner and listen to them this time as that's part of it.
Overall, we had a good meal, good visiting and a good time.

Thankful I actually talked to a telemarketer this time.

(We ate out four nights in a row last week and only paid for two nights.  I could get used to this!  lol)

Weekend Recap:

Our Lizzy Girl
Friday:
Lizzy moved in with her Mom in December.  We hadn't seen her in quite some time.  Really missed her as we usually see her one evening per week.
We went out to eat at Maid-Rite's.  On the way home, I told Dwayne he didn't talk much.  He's like, "I couldn't get a word in for you and Lizzy talking".  True, we had alot to catch up on.
Saturday:
Dwayne went fishing over at our lake in Vichy.  I cleaned house and then sat on the front porch swing and finished a book I had been reading.  The weather was so nice out.
That evening we met up with good friends of ours., Mike and Susan Southard at Alex's Pizza.  The 5th was their 40th Anniversary.  I never try anything different so I ordered the same thing I always do.  It wasn't quite as good this time.  We had a good time visiting.
Afterward, we went to Sput's for a drink.  My drink of choice is Sun Drop, so that's what I had.   There wasn't anyone there we knew so we left early.
Sunday:
I had meant to go to church but since I forgot on Saturday to make my cake for the kid's meal, I stayed home.  We had roast beef and all the fixings.  Dad came down as did Chad, Todd, Michelle, April, Mike, Cash and Iva.  We love these get togethers as it keeps us all connected.
Cash and I had our usual tea aka Sun Drop party.  Iva was such a ham and is so happy.  We got pictures of her but failed to get any with Cash.  Cash loves Uncle Chad.  He can get Chad to do anything for him.

Iva is not crawling yet.  She hated to be on her stomach although you can't tell that in this smiley picture.

I am so grateful for our family meals and that we also have Dad to share in our family fun.

Sput's:

We met Chad at Sput's last night.  Chad looks very serious in this picture.  I'm just not quick enough to get the right shot.  We were all actually laughing over something.
We sat with our good friends, Kenny and Shelley Allen, Blake and Nathan.  April used to babysit Blake and it's so hard to believe how much he's grown up.
It's nice getting out and meeting friends and visiting.

I am grateful for times such as these.

Weekly Visit:

Iva laughing and jumping.

We went to April and Mike's Tuesday night.  There was a bridge out on Hwy 42.  I thought (wrong!) that it was the one nearest Vienna.  I was so very wrong!!  We took Hwy AA to Argyle and was going to go on through Keoltztown but I decided we'd just take T over the 42 as we know the way better that way.  Well, after we drive eight miles to get to Hwy 42 and then probably another eight miles to find out the bridge at that end of the highway was closed.  Darn!!  Dwayne wanted to just go home and try another night.  I thought we should just back track and keep going, so we did.  The road was very curvy but we made it not too long of time.  We came back that way, much closer than the route we took going over.
I wish I would have got better pictures.  These just don't do justice to all the giggling going on.  In the first one, Iva was having so much fun in the car walker.  She would bounce up and down and giggle the whole time.
Later, Dwayne would shut the lid (over and over) of the little barbecue grill and both Cash and Iva would just crack up.  I've never heard Iva laugh so hard.  Kept them entertained for quite awhile.

So grateful for these visits.

Sput's:

We went to Sput's last night to meet up with the kids for $1 Taco night.  Tim brought along Tess, was so glad to see her.  Hadn't seen her in awhile.  We used to babysit her and her sister, Kara quite a bit.
As you can see from the pictures we were having a good time.  The laughter was from something I said.  They were talking about hogs and that they eat anything.  Tim said he saw on a TV show that they would even eat a human if it was cut up.  I blurted out, "You don't have to cut them up, they'll eat them live."  It sounded as if I knew exactly what I was talking about.  I guess you would have just had to have been there.  What I was really remembering was growing up, we had a small tree house in the pig pen.  I had went in for lunch.  When I had come back out  the hogs had shaken the trees so hard my doll, Mabel had fell out.  The hogs ate her up and I was so upset about it.  So I knew they would eat anything.  I was upset for a long time over Mabel.
Truly, life is a miracle and I wouldn't have even thought lightly of someone dying.  It just came out the wrong way.  They all laughed at how serious I was.
I love spending time with the kids and we had such a good evening.

January:

Not alot to post.  Still have the kids and Dad over for supper every other week.
Now that Dwayne is laid off, we've gone back to our schedule of going to April's every Wednesday.  Sure do love those visits.
Dad gets so lonely.  He comes down to visit a lot more.  Sometimes twice in one day.  He ate supper with us last night.
The most "excitement" I've had is redoing our guest bathroom.  It's rather small so you would think it's no big deal.  Wrong!  Dwayne took the trim and fixtures out.  Removed the toilet stool and sink.  Found a small hole in the water line and had to go to the basement and remove sheet rock to fix line.
He's not too happy of a camper.  He wasn't in favor of me redoing the bathroom in the first place.  First, I thought (stupid of me) I would just rehang the wallpaper over the old.  Well, duh!  That doesn't work.  So I spent Saturday evening and Sunday evening stripping wallpaper.  Now Dwayne says it needs to be painted first as the sizing I put on years ago is not any good.  I'm good at wallpapering but now I have my doubts.  I kind of need Dwayne to help me hold up the wallpaper as I line it up but he said he doesn't deal with wallpaper.  I've dug myself into a big mess.  Hopefully, this coming Saturday I can get it done.  It will look nice once it's done.  Even Chad didn't want me to change it.  He's like, "it's the only room in the house that's original".  lol  Told him April's room hasn't changed.  The kids want the house the same as when they grew up.  I need to update from time to time.

I am grateful to have a house/home the kids want to come home to.

Catching up:

End of year.  We didn't do anything special, just stayed home.
Dad and I did go to my Aunt Geri's birthday party on Saturday, 31st.  Aunt Geri is my only living aunt left on my Mom's side of the family.  She was married to my Uncle Junior Williams.  We had a good time visiting and enjoying the joy Aunt Geri was having.  Love her.

Iva turned 7 months old.

Saturday, January 7th.
We had a gift certificate for AppleBees so we went out to eat a late lunch.  The food was good this time.  Bought groceries and then home.

Sunday, January 8th
I went to church and then in the evening, we went to Mike and April's.  Had fun playing with Cash.  Iva is such a good baby and always seems happy.
Iva in pigtails.

My sister-in-law, Bobbi and brother, Wayne
Bittersweet day as it would have been Wayne's birthday.  Sure do miss him.  Even more since Momma died.

Monday, January 9th.
My sister, Katie's birthday.

Instead of prayer meeting at Dad's, we went to Paul and Katie's for supper and prayer meeting.  Paul had supper ready and had made Kate a four tiered cake.  It was very good.  We had a good time.

We're starting off the New Year with Dwayne laid off from work, but getting some much needed projects done around the place.  Me, I've been super tired.  (Lupus crap)  I fall asleep on the couch about every night but I don't hurt too bad so that is good.
We're enjoying life with our adult kids and looking to the future for more good things to happen.

I am grateful for each day of my life.
