Fun with Grandpa:

A few weeks ago, April and I went to Manchester to do some shopping.  There is a shop there called Once Upon a Child.   It's  a used clothing store.  April takes the kids outgrown clothes there and sells them.  She does pretty good.
The kids stayed with Grandpa Dwayne.  They had fun by going to the feed store, stopping to get a bug juice and feeding the cows.  I think they had a little bit of rain free weather to ride in their truck.
They always have fun with Pa.   Iva was a little tired when it was time to eat.

We had a good day shopping.   It was hard to find a good spot to eat on Hwy 100.  We finally settled to Joe's Barbeque.   It was very busy and we had to wait.  The food was good, though.  It rained off and on all day, a very nasty day to be out and about.
On the way home, I saw a couple model homes that had Open House signs.  My friend, Sherie and I used to do this all the time.  We got off the highway and took a road that looked like it would go there.  Not!  It was a dead end and kind of spooky looking.  We tried to find a different way but apparently we should have gone back on the highway to the exit before.  I was disappointed.
Years ago, Susan, Sherie and I went to several Open Houses to look around.   We went in one house and I started upstairs and Sherie and Susan were going to look around downstairs first.  There was a lady in the living room putting items on the fireplace mantle.  We just thought she was the designer.  After a few minutes, she asked what we were wanting.  We told her we were just looking around. She had a dumbfounded look on her face and said, "I live here".  We were very embarrassed.  We didn't look at any other houses that day.
Another time I went with Teresa Wooley to look at model homes.   We went in the master bathroom and in the tub there was  huge blow up girl in the bathtub.  Scared us to death.  Ended our adventures for the day.  It's still fun to see the model homes and I hope to get to go to some more in the future.
Cash and April were playing around with Snap Chat.

Such cute and goofy pictures.

We had a good weekend and hope to have many more.  I am grateful for time spent with my daughter.

Easter Sunday:

We had the Elrod family over for Easter.  This included several small kids.  Friday, I had filled a trash bag full of eggs with candy.  It took me over two hours.  It was so nasty outside, we had the egg hunt in the basement.  Didn't seem to bother the kids, they had a good time.

We had a very good visit with everyone.  I am grateful for these Holidays spent together.

St, Pat's Weekend

Saturday:
April and the kids came over so we could go to Rolla and watch the St. Pat's Parade.  The highlight is getting to see Uncle Chad with his horse and buggy.   It was really cold and windy and the parade was extra long.  The kids got several beads and some candy.

Unfortunately, we didn't stay to see Chad.  We kept looking down the street for the horses and there was just more trucks.  The parade was really strung out.  Sometimes there would be a whole block or more with nothing coming through.  We froze out and left.  We then went to McDonald's and the kids must have been real hungry as they devoured all their food.  Home to see PaPa.  The kids really love their PaPa.
Iva and all her beads.

April and Iva went home and Cash spent the night with us.   We had to do our usual of tea party and then having a "meal" of marbles.  I got the bright idea to get him some marbles.  He loves them.  He gets out two cake pans and puts the marbles in them.  He then cooks them and we all have to sit down to eat a meal which Cash has set the table with.  We have mashed potatoes and pork steak.  We always have to hold hands and pray first.  He's very serious about this.  Afterwards, he washes the dishes by himself.  He really has a good time.
He brought his Chutes n Ladders game with him and we played that a few times.  It's funny as how he always wins.  lol

Sunday:
Dwayne fixed chocolate chip pancakes and then him and Cash went to feed the cows.  Cash got to ride in his truck a little bit but the weather was so nasty, he didn't get much driving time in.
The kids all came over for Sunday dinner.   We had a good time visiting.  I love these family times together.  Dad (or as Cash calls him, Pa Great) always comes down and it's a good time for everyone to see and visit with him.

We had a really nice weekend and I am so grateful for these times in our lives.

Weeked Recap:

Saturday:
Cleaned house.
Sunday:
The kids all came for dinner.  We had hamburger pot pie.  Dad came down and ate with us.  It's a good time as all the kids get to see him.  Life gets so busy, the kids don't always have the time to stop by to see him.
Cash was happy he got to drive his truck.  Not sure how he's going to feel about sharing when Iva gets big enough to drive.  April went through some of her old clothes and found a few for the kids to wear.  Cash loved her old pre-school shirt.

Thursday:
I went over to babysit the kids.  Capital Region was having a tribute to Laverne for her 45 years of service as an RN.  It was a bittersweet time for the kids.
The kids were very good.  We had chocolate chip pancakes for supper.

Weekend Update:

Saturday:
April and the kids went to see Pa Great and then came and spent the day.  Cash has fun feeding the cows with Pa.  Iva loves just playing.
For some stupid reason, I bought Cash some marbles.  He loves to get two pans and stir the marbles all together.  He then sets the table.  The marbles are our food.  The first time we did this, I just started to eat.  Cash said no, we need to pray first as he held out his little hands.  I was so proud of him.

Sunday:
Dwayne and I went to Vienna to buy groceries to Dad.  Dad is always happy to have company.
I spent the day working on tax paperwork.  (yuck!)
Chad had us down for barbecue chicken and some music.  He did a great job grilling the chicken.
Overall, a nice weekend.

I am grateful for family and times we spend together.
