Weekend Update:

Friday:
Just a typical Friday night.  Pot of chili and TV.
Saturday:
April and the kids came over for the day.  Cash and Grandpa went to Chad's and then to feed the cows.  Cash so enjoys feeding the cows and "driving" the truck.  After lunch, they went on a four wheeler ride.  Dad came down for a visit.
Iva is such a happy baby.
Cash spent the night.  After Dwayne left, Cash wanted to go to Olla (Rolla) to get a bug juice and chips.  We spoil him so much.  Off to Vienna him and Dwayne went.  Usually Cash and Grandpa go to MFA to get feed and then stop to get Bug Juice and chips but they didn't have to buy feed today.
I needed to bake a cake for Sunday dinner.  Cash helped me make the cake and then later poke it with a fork to absorb the green jello we were going to pour over it for St. Pat's Day.

We had a good time playing farm and watching cartoons.
Sunday:
Cash wanted to go for a ride in Grandpa's truck.  They went to see Chad and Grandpa ran off the county road a few times; Cash loved it.
We had a tea party and played with trucks and tractors.
Cash and Grandpa went for another four wheeler ride.  Cash came in telling me they had run over trees and thought it was so funny.  (Small limbs but to him they were trees).
Dad came down early for our Sunday evening supper.  (One Sunday he showed up at 7:30 in the morning.  I don't tell him too much ahead of time anymore.  lol)
April, Mike and Iva came over mid-afternoon.  Poor Iva got carsick on the way over.  Chad came over, Todd and Michelle were in Springfield for the weekend.
We had regular roast beef and also corned beef, cabbage and potatoes.
It seemed so lonely in the house after everyone left.

Once again, I am grateful for my family and especially for Dad being with us.

Sput's:

Me, Dwayne, Chad, Tim, Dustin, Todd, Michelle

What a better evening than when your daughter-in-law asks you to meet them at Sput's.  Good to have my sons there and nephews (and daughter-in-law).
We had a good time.  Since it St. Pat's, they had Reuben sandwiches that were very good.  Nice to get out of the house.

I am so grateful for my sons and daughter-in-law including us in their eating out.

Aunt Ella Mae:

Me and Aunt Ella Mae at a family reunion.

As long as I can remember, Aunt Ella Mae has been in my life.  Growing up we were at each other's house at least once a week.  She was my Mom's youngest sibling.  Their Mom died two days before Christmas when Mom was ten years old and Aunt Ella Mae was a baby.  Uncle Junior was I think about three.  Mom had several older siblings already living away from home.  Aunt Ella Mae and Uncle Junior looked to Mom as their mother figure.
We always had fun visiting together.  Never a dull moment.  I had a play house on the rocks below the house.  I couldn't wait for Martha and Jeannie to get there to play.  We had rock ash trays and twig cigarettes.  We thought we were really big.
I remember one time I was staying at Aunt Ella Mae's house in Newburg for a few days.  They had a little house or shed we played house in.  Every so often we'd go over to Grandma Lola's trailer and secretly grab one of her True Story magazines.  We thought they were so neat to read and a little naughty.  Nothing on today's society, as what we read is not near as bad as what's on regular TV.  We were to go to the Carnival in Rolla one night.  I got so homesick, I wanted to go home.  Aunt Ella Mae tried to get me to go to the Carnival first.  (The Carnival was a big deal and I loved to go)  But I was just too homesick to go.   Now, I wish I would have just made it another night and went.
Unfortunately, Aunt Ella Mae developed lung cancer and died way too young.  Just two or three years older than what I am now.  Coincidentally, my Aunt Pat Williams passed away the same day.  There was a huge sadness and void come over my Mom when she lost Aunt Ella Mae.  Everyone loved her.

Today, I honor Aunt Ella Mae and am so grateful to have had her in my life.

Sick Kiddos:

Cash and Iva have both been pretty sick.  Cash with RSV and Iva with double ear infection.
Poor little Cash was so sick.
We went over to see them last night.  Nice to see them feeling better.
Needing Momma

She laughs even when she's sick.

Poor little guy threw up so much

Feeling a little better.

I am so grateful the kids are getting better.

Weekend Recap:

Friday:
I went to Wal-Mart after work, a much dreaded trip.  I always spend too much when I go to Wal-Mart.  My coffee pot had quit working and I was in dire need of a new one.
Saturday:
After cleaning up some around the house, I went outside to restack the rocks around our driveway.  I love clearing away dead leaves and moving rocks around.  I don't usually wear gloves but so glad I did as I saw two scorpions under the rocks.  I got stung by one a few years ago and it made my leg go numb, not to mention that the ER doc said we don't have scorpions in MO.  (go figure, not sure where he was from)  Several tests later and a shot of cortizone, the doctor decided it was a scorpion sting.
Later afternoon, I went down to Todd and Michelle's new place.  Dwayne was moving hay bales out of their field.  Chad and Desmon were there as well.  Visited for awhile and then headed home.  Dwayne got home around dark.
Sunday:
I overslept so I didn't make it to church.  Had supper for the kids and Dad.  April and Mike couldn't make it as both kids are sick and had been to Urgent Care.  Iva had double ear infections and Cash had RSV.  He's been a sick little boy.  We sure missed them.
Sunday night, we watched Chicago Justice on NBC.  We're kind of hooked to their Chicago series. Tuesday night-Chicago Fire; Wednesday night-Chicago PD; Thursday night-Chicago Med and now the new series of Chicago Justice.  They're good shows and pretty clean to watch.  You don't find that too much anymore.

I am grateful for family and pray Cash and Iva are on the mend.
