April has been coming over on Wednesdays since she's on maternity leave. This time, I went to her house. She had a hair appointment and I got to play with the kids. While Iva napped, Cash and I played with tractors and watched Finding Nemo. He sat on my lap several different times. I so enjoyed that as it's usually just all about Grandpa.
After April came back, I had a doctor's appointment in Jeff City. Before I left a big storm came up. The wind was so strong it was snapping off tree limbs. It rained really hard. After the rain let up a little, I left. I was driving in pouring down rain most of the way and on an unfamiliar road. I was five minutes late for my appointment.
I had never asked Dr. Galbreth what all he had to do with my shoulder. I knew about the rotator cuff tear and the calcium deposits on the tendons but I did not know my bicep also had a tear in it. I've done exceptionally well on healing but can't bring my arm backwards very good. He said that was from the bicep tear. Sooo, six more weeks of physical therapy.
The rain had let up when I was leaving. I saw a lot of trees down. When I get home, we didn't have electricity. Apparently, it had been off since 1:30. We had sandwiches for supper and then played rummy. I should know better than to play rummy with Dwayne. HE ALWAYS WINS! Really, I rarely win a game. If I do win, Dwayne says he felt sorry for me and let me win. Then I get kinda mad because he could be right. I'll keep trying and maybe someday I'll get as good or at least better at winning. Dwayne can't remember anything, but come to a card game-he remembers the cards that have been played. No fair. lol
After it got too dark for cards, Dwayne said he was going to bed on the floor because he didn't want to get the sheets dirty from work. He told me to wake him up when the electricity came back on so he could take a shower.
Now what to do in the dark for hours. I lit a candle and used it as my light to fix Dwayne's lunch for the next day and my coffee pot ready for me. I love my coffee in the morning.
We got a teaser when the electric came back on for about five minutes. I called Chad as his had been out too, his was now on. Called the electric company and told them the end of Hwy A was still out. The poor workers were really getting a workout. Two electric poles had snapped and they had to go to Dixon to get poles for replacement.
If you don't think a sleep apnea machine is vital. it definitely is. I could hear Dwayne snoring LOUD from the living room. It helps tremendously with his snoring but most important, his breathing.
I tried to sleep in the living room and slept some then a few minutes before midnight the electric came back on. I had to have my TV fix, so I stayed up to watch a couple shows. Didn't want to get up the next morning but oh well. As it turned out, I must have been getting sick. I wound up staying home.
I am grateful we didn't have any major damage to our yard.
Lunch, Please
