Momma

It's been a year Friday since Daddy brought Momma home from the nursing home.  And a whole week we had with her.  Judy, Katie and I just camped out at the house, only leaving to get a change of clothes.  I've done real good dealing with Momma's death but seeing these two pictures crop up on memories today kind of hit me.  I miss her so much.  I have tried to be strong this year but this week has hit me pretty good.

Mom in painting class at the nursing home.  Hoss was her nickname for Dad.
LOVE this picture.

Mom and Lizzy

October 28th, we lost Momma.  As hard as it was, it was a blessing not to see her suffer anymore.  She had a rough week and actually the whole last year.  We all miss her so much.

I am so grateful for this wonderful woman.  I couldn't have asked for a better Mom.

Weekend:

Friday:
Chad and Desmon went with us to Sput's to eat.  Todd and Michelle were there also.  Kind of nice to visit both sons at one spot.  Very good evening.
Saturday:
April and I have been planning a shopping trip to Manchester since Iva was born.  We enjoyed the day of shopping and eating out.  Dwayne watched the kids. The weather was beautiful.
After we got home, I wasn't inside the door long before Cash wanted a tea party.  I think I started something.  lol
I didn't get any pictures of Iva.  I tried to upload some of April's but it didn't work.
Sunday:
I didn't get up until 10:45.  Needless to say, I missed church.  I didn't do much of anything all day.
Our renters moved out so I went to look at the house.  I think we all have different levels of what we think is clean.  I would like to sell it but Dwayne doesn't want to.

I am grateful to get to see all three of my kids this weekend.  Family means alot.

Weekend Update-a little late:

Friday:
I left work at four to go pick up Cash and Iva from Miss Susie's.  April and Mike were going to a concert.  This was the first time we were to watch Iva overnight.  She was all smiles when I got there.  She slept on the way home and Cash chattered away.  Got excited to see his and Pa's feed store in Vienna and the Quik Spot where he always get Bug Juice and a snack.
We did pretty good...........for awhile. THEN, little Miss Iva decided she wanted her Momma.  She kept looking around the room and crying.  Nonstop, for almost two hours.  Dwayne and I both took turns trying to quiet her down, but nothing worked.  We finally decided to take a drive.  Worked perfect, she went to sleep and was fine the rest of the night.  Even when she woke on Saturday she was still a happy baby.  I didn't get any pictures taken.  Wish I would have, she was so cute.  Cash is now quite the Grandma's boy.  When he was there last time, I got out April's tea set that Grandma Dodie made for her.  We had soda for tea.  He loved it.  So this time he asked for a tea party.  Think I might have started something.
Saturday:
Cash and Grandpa went to Vienna to get feed and fed the cows.  Cash played with the toys and Iva was good.  A nice day.  Liz and Nathan came over in the afternoon.  Iva got a little fussy and they each had a turn walking her around.  She liked that.
When April came in, Iva's face lit up.  She is definetly a Momma's girl.  April took Cash in to Rolla to pick out his birthday present.  Nothing like a tractor set to make a boy happy.
Sunday:
Dad call mid-morning all excited.  He wanted to take us out to eat at the Vichy Wye.  We couldn't as we had Cash's birthday party to go to.  His birthday was the 12th.  Dad decided it would be too long of a day if he went.   Chad had come over to go with us but wasn't feeling well so he went back home and just sent his gift. The weather was perfect for Cash's party.  A little too windy for blowing out candles but he had fun anyway.
I had a really good short video of Michelle, Todd and Iva but I couldn't get it transferred.

The past three years.

We had a wonderful weekend with the grandkids and that is what we have waited a long time for.  So grateful for our family.

Weekend Update:

Friday:
We ate at Apple Bees and it was quite the disappointment.  Won't be going there for quite some time.
Saturday:
I had the intention of restaining our front door and side lights.  I was washing down the door when Lizzy came over for the day.  I couldn't believe all the black, I guess mold although it didn't looked moldy, that I got off the door.  Had to go over it twice.  I then taped the door off and it was such a beautiful day, I decided heck with it, I'll stain it Wednesday on my day off.
We went to Rolla and got large milkshakes at Dairy Queen.  Then I noticed the calories was 790.  Whoops, little high.  I told Lizzy it was okay, it was our lunch and we were getting our dairy and fruit.  lol
We took the long way home and then headed to Nagogami Lodge to see the river.  We saw Chad as he was working at Chris's house.  Went home and watched TV.
That evening, we went to Dustin's house for a cookout and bonfire for Trevor's birthday.  Good to see Trevor again, he's grown so much.

Sunday:
Dad came down fairly early to visit.  I then didn't go to church.  Spent the afternoon mowing the yard. Went to the hay field to see the guys.  They were having quite a time as both tractors were acting up.  Stayed awhile then went home to fix supper.

I am grateful for the times big or small with my family.

Weekend Update:

Friday:
I ordered pizza and the we spent the evening installing the new washer and dryer.  I'm not too good rolling the dolly around anymore.
Saturday:
Both Dwayne and I had to work.  I only work until noon on Saturdays so it gave me time to go get groceries.  I was so tired, I laid down to take a nap.  Sleeping very peacefully until Dwayne came in with Desmon and Braiden.  Two hungry boys makes alot of noise.
Saturday evening, we met across from Mom and Dad's to start out our hayride.  Chad had his horse n buggy there but I can't get the picture to upload.  It looked real cute as he took a tarp and had it looking like a covered wagon.  I rode with Chad the first half of the trip.  At first I was a little nervous but soon got over that.  The buggy really rides quite smooth.  Much smoother than the rough hay ride.
Dwayne roasting hot dogs.
We had over twenty-one on the hayride and several more for the bonfire.  What a good night.
Sunday:
We usually make molasses the first weekend of October.  As you can see from the very small pile of cane, we didn't have enough to make this year.

Several extended family attended.  We had a good time sitting around reminencing about the past molasses makings.,  This marks the 38th year.

Still tired, came home and took a three hour nap.  Even with getting up at 7:30 p.m. I was ready for bed at ten.

I'm grateful for these family traditions.  It seems each year comes around more often, but precious memories they are.

Precious Memories:

I was looking through Cash's baby book and ran across these picture.  I love the one with Dad and Mom holding Cash.  Seeing the picture of Mom made me miss her so much more.  Such a natural picture of her.  I've thought alot about Mom this week, not sure why the grief is cropping up so strong right now.  Could be it's getting closer to the anniversary date of her passing.

These pictures were all taken at Cash's Christening.

I am so grateful for the Mom I had.  Her kindness, loving ways, witty humor and so much more.  Miss you Mom.
