Thursday:

We had such a fun day.  I'm normally scared of new adventures but not anymore.  We went up on a plane ride and it was so beautiful.  I would love to show pictures but they're on my camera and I don't know how to upload to Brooke's computer.  The pictures don't even do justice to how beautiful the glaciers and mountains were.
I finally found the tiny little jade bear I wanted yesterday.  Donnie and Robin brought me back a white one when they came to Alaska years ago.  Now I have a jade one to match it.
Not sure what we're doing today but whatever it is I'm sure it will be a beautiful adventure.

I am grateful for this day and all God has given me.

Wednesday:

Another great day of site-seeing.  We also went to souvenir shops and found some great deals.
View of Anchorage

Souvenir Shopping
Me & Mr. Moose

Kriner's Restaurant:
One of the largest hamburgers

Dog in the neighborhood

Even after all the driving around we did, Jeannie still hasn't got to see a moose.  We're going on a plane ride this afternoon and we are supposed to see moose and other animals from the air.  We are hoping for a moose as that is all Jeannie wants to see.

I am grateful for such a great family to vacation with and viewing God's beautiful creation.

Tuesday:

What more can a lady wish for; sleeping late, piddling around getting ready-no hurry, then going out for the day.  Another day of site-seeing and then shopping.  What more could a girl want!  We out ate a family owned restaurant that served the best hamburgers.
We then rented a movie on Frozen Ground-which was filmed her in Anchorage; which was a little spooky, especially as a lot of it was on Moldoon Road which is just a mile away.  So sad there is such sick people around here or anyway.
This is the whole message I sent Cash

                                                               More site-seeing.

We didn't stay up so late last night; think we were too worn out.

I am grateful for having such a good vacation.

Monday:

I didn't get up until 11:20 a.m.  Tubing wears you out.  We kind of just had a lazy day at home to rest and recuperate.  Martha fixed supper and then we went out.
First we went to a store called Fred Meyer.  It's more like an upscale Wal-Mart.  People thought we were crazy as we laugh hysterically over anything.  It's fun wherever we go.
We then went to watch a movie, Winter Tail.  It was a little different but still a good movie.  It only cost $3.75 to get in. Wish it was that cheap at home.  It was a late show so we had the theatre all to ourselves, which was a little creepy.
Back home to our slumber party atmosphere, laying in bed talking and laughing until about 2 or 3 in the morning-just like our childhood days.  So fun!

I am grateful for this opportunity to be with my family; even though Brooke and Terri call us the "old ladies".  lol

After a wonderful day out, we ate at a Golden Corral and then home to rest.  The scenery was beautiful.
Sunday:
We started out the day by getting ready to go out and play in the snow for the day.  Do you know how long it takes for five people to get their snow gear on?  A LONG TIME!  lol   Layers of clothes, then snow pants and coat, then thick gloves and snow boots.  We looked like the abdominal snowman trying to work.
Our first stop was tubing.  Oh, what a fun day!!  Had so much fun, felt like a kid again.
Russian Church
Top of Artic Mountain
Message to Baby Cash
Another great down out and about. We are having so much fun and then at bedtime we just lay there and giggle and talk like when we were kids.  Such a great vacation.

I am grateful for my trip to Alaska and to see more of God's beautiful creation.

Peacock Lady:

Ladies Night Out

A couple weeks ago, me and Sheila (sorry for the poor grammar) went to Ladies Night Out here in town.  Mardi Gras was the theme.  Sheila won the queen prize.  We had a wonderful time and a great dinner.  I think our good time was in part to the people seated at our table; we had a good group.
One was Sharon Wilson and she surprised me this morning by bringing the pictures by work.  Sharon and her husband, Louis went to school with my boss, Don so there was a lot of visiting going on.  Louis and Don were visiting in one room and Sharon and I were visiting in my office.  It was so nice of her to come by; we had a great visit.  They were going on to Rolla from here.  I suggested they cut through on the road I live on and then go on to Road Kill Grill for lunch.  They were excited to try it as they'd heard a lot about it.  It is a good place to eat.

I am grateful for my work environment and for friends stopping by.

Weekly Visit:

We went down last night for our weekly visit.  He's such a little character and has to be the center of attention all the time.  He hollers and jabbers to us the whole time we're there.  He especially loves getting his diaper changed, he squeals, hollers and keeps his hands and legs moving the whole time.  Which can make diaper changing a little challenging but it's worth it to hear him and how excited he gets.

Back home to our nightly ritual this week of root beer floats.  Liz and Nate were over Tuesday night and couldn't get enough.  Can't say I blame them.

I am so grateful for this precious baby and especially grateful for a husband that doesn't mind me taking off with my cousins tomorrow for a week long adventure in Alaska.  He is truly great about it.

Kid's Visit

Do our children ever get too old to be called kids?  Mine are 35, almost 33 and 28, but they're still kids to me.
Instead of our Sunday evening mean, we got together last night for a steak dinner along with corned beef and cabbage.  Since I cooked it different this year even the boys liked it.
We had a very pleasant evening of visiting and everyone stayed longer than they usually do.
Of course, the center of attention was Cash.  He's still not feeling very well and has to do breathing treatments, but he's doing much better than last week.
Grandma's Sweetheart

I am so grateful for my kids and husband (and of course, my grandson!) and the close bond we share.

Weekend:

Friday:
After supper, I told Dwayne it was too nice to stay in.  We took a drive and went to Wayne (my nephew) and Deone's, where they're building a new house.  I love looking at the building phase.  I so enjoyed that when Dwayne was in construction.  I drew up several of the house plans and remodels he did.  Tim and a couple of his friends were there, too and Zach had just left on his horse.  By the time we got home, Zach had arrived and was unsaddling his horse.  He spent the night.
Saturday:
Zach and Dwayne went to Vienna and then to Vichy to feed.  I went into Rolla.  I really hated to as it was St. Pat's weekend and it is very busy!  Went to Penney's and bought insulated boots for the trip, then went to the mad house of Wal-Mart.  I think everyone must have decided the same thing.  I thought that most people would be at the parade during that time from, but I must have thought wrong.
Dwayne and I spent the afternoon working in the yard raking leaves and cleaning out flower beds.  I love this time of year; I feel so energized with Spring coming on.  It was too windy to burn but by evening the wind had died down and Dwayne burned leaves.  The fire looked so pretty.

Sunday:
I got up prepared to go to church.  It was sleeting pretty hard and then started snowing.  Dwayne told  me I'd better stay home.
I did get several small jobs done that I've been putting off.  One was cleaning out the refrigerator-talk about a mess!  I found something dried up that I have no idea what it was.
After lunch, we went to feed the horses and cows. We then went on over to Mike and Susan's to take  her her tile cutter I had borrowed.  Susan is redoing her kitchen and putting tile up.  Her new appliances looked so good, sleek and modern.  She's got quite the job to do this week, painting, putting up wallpaper and tile.  I'm tired just thinking about it.  It will look great when she gets it done.
We had corned beef sandwiches for supper.  Turned out really good.  I had always cooked corned beef on top of the stove, apparently I didn't know what I was doing.  Cooked this one in the oven and it turned out great.  Tonight the kids are coming over for supper.  I'll add my cooked corned beef to the cabbage and since it's better this time, maybe my boys will eat some.  Had to thaw out some rib
eye steaks to go with it.
Picture April sent me.  "Look Grandma and Grandpa, I'm one cool dude in my GT you got me"

I am grateful for the ONE nice day to be outside over the weekend and especially grateful for the little guy in the car.  He's sure worming his way into my heart.  So thankful to be a Grandma.

Weekly Visit:

We went to St. Elizabeth for our weekly visit with April, Mike and Cash.
Poor little Cash didn't feel very well.  April had to take him to the doctor, he had and ear infection and chest congestion.  They sent a breathing treatment home with them.  He didn't care too much for the treatment but then I gave him a bottle and was able to hold the spray to the side of his mouth without him noticing it.  He was in a good mood in spite of looking and feeling so miserable.

I am grateful for the visits we have each week.
